And 5 more stars! This recipe has the best directions I've seen on this site! Remember, this soup is supposed to accept chunks of veggies, so don't go crazy chopping everything into little morsels! This makes ALOT of soup...maybe 8 Aztec warriors could polish this off, but, heck, it get's amend every day. I used 1 beef shank and one lb of boneless short rib meat cut into 1/2 cubes. I beloved the chayote, just if you can't find it, substitute ii med. zucchini chunked, but don't put this in until yous add the cabbage or it volition over melt. I used four chunks of frozen corn-on-the-cob defrosted for the fresh corn. My only change was to also add 1 8oz. can of tomato sauce and a packet of Goya Sazon (if you lot read any of my reviews, information technology seems to observe it'south way into most everything). All y'all need for a complete meal is corn bread or garlic bread (yeah, excuse me for mixing ethnicities, just if it tastes good, practise it!!) Thanks once more for a fabulous recipe and for your attention to detailed instruction!

MY HUSBAND LOVES THIS RECIPE...BUT HE EATS IT WITH A FRESH JALAPENO DICED FINE TO Add IN TO YOUR Basin AT SERVING Fourth dimension AND A SQUIRT OF LIME IN THE Goop! Likewise WE Employ Love apple SAUCE OR FRESH TOMATOES IN Information technology THIS DEPENDS ON THE SEASONS...WE DONT USE THE PICKLED JALAPENOS,AND WE Add THE FRESH CILANTRO INTO THE SOUP AND THE END OF COOKING WHILE HEATING UP THE CORN TORTILLAS!But I Need TO SAY THAT A SPRINKLE OF SALT AND A SQUEEZE OF LIME ON YOUR TORTILLA BEFORE YOU Ringlet IT UP GIVES It THAT ULTIMATE Gustatory modality OF United mexican states!!!
12/12/2007
I LOVE THIS DISH. I Add GARLIC AND COMINO TO MINE. I As well Add together KNOR CONSOMATE FOR A GREATER Gustatory modality. I ALSO Add ZUCHINI SQUASH TO MINE AT THE End. I MAKE A PAN OF MEXICAN RICE FOR A More AUTHENTIC Sense of taste. As well, DONT FORGET THE CORN TORTILLAS AND THE Bootleg MEXICAN SALSA. Admittedly DELICIOSO!!!
04/27/2007
Growing up in a large Mexican family unit in Texas, this was the "Sunday" soup of my babyhood. My grandmother made this every Sunday for the family unit. We ate information technology with warm corn tortillas, sliced avacados and fresh salsa. None of us were fond of cilantro or chayote, so they were never in our caldo pot. Thanks for sharing the recipe...information technology brings back some wonderful memories!!!
04/08/2008
The butcher recommended beef ribs which turned out amazingly moist and flavorful. This recipe is delicious. Will be making information technology once again and freezing some this time.
01/25/2008
My married man is mexican and he thought this tasted just like his mom'southward (large compliment)! This is a definite saver. This blazon of soup is actually proficient with chicken and fish as well (just change the stock that is used).
06/26/2008
Neat recipe, I live in Chicago where we have an affluence of great Mexican restaurants, and my pals all think this is the best they've ever had! I used the beef shank os, simply likewise added 1lb of finely chopped beefiness. When I added the stock, I also threw in two cloves of slightly crushed garlic. Instead of using simply cold water, I added 2 boosted cans of stock, 3 cups h2o, and ii packets of tomato plant & cilantro Sayzon. I'll be making this again and again!
06/23/2009
This is wonderful my husband and his family are from Guadalajara, Jalisco United mexican states and i fabricated this and invited them all over. They loved it!!! Thanks for the wonderful recipe!
01/01/2007
Very succulent and authentic. I substituted the salt for two cubes of Knorr brand beefiness bullion cubes. I likewise added ii large fresh chopped tomatoes instead of the canned ones(since my grandmother used to brand it that fashion). I used large chunks of beef stew meat (boneless) too.
09/26/2012
I'm a black adult female. My husband is Mexican and grew upward in a traditional mexican (food wise) house hold. He told me well-nigh a beef soup that his grandma would make and it had squash, corn, tomatoes, etc! Then I researched. I constitute this recipe and fabricated it for him as a surprise (hoping and praying that information technology was what he was yearning for. When he tasted this Caldo de Res, he said it brought him dorsum to his younger days. He felt that it was just every bit good as his grandma used to brand it. He invited his brothers and sisters over and they all loved it. This recipe is a keeper for my Mexican! Thanx ALOT!
05/19/2007
I made this for my Spanish class in loftier school. My teacher liked it and so much she asked for the recipe. My dad gave it a ten and he's tough.
02/22/2010
This recipe is excellent, very accurate! Authentic Caldo de Res is not supposed to be spicy. I used iii lbs. of beef shank and boiled it for about 4 hours until information technology brutal off the basic. Then I scooped out the basic and trimmed near of the fatty. I sauted ii cloves of chopped garlic with the onion and added nigh 1/ii teaspoon of cumin. I used minor ears of frozen corn and skipped the chayote and used iii potatoes. Next time I think I will throw in a zucchini. I served this with warm flour tortillas, some Mexican rice and homemade chile'. My husband LOVED it! Cheers so much for the great recipe.
12/sixteen/2011
Virtually first-class soup ! For y'all out there that do non know how to follow a receipe,or use the correct ingredients and then give it a so so rating...and and so merits you are an practiced cook......you need to get dorsum to the basics. Find another hobby...yous are waisting your fourth dimension. I had goose egg just raves about this soup.
11/03/2011
This is similar to the caldo recipe that was handed down in my husband's family. The but divergence is their recipe doesnt include tomatoes. Very skilful on a cold winter mean solar day. It is too easy to make in a crock pot. Just skip browning the beef and onions if y'all are in a hurry, throw all the ingredients together into a crock pot and let it cook on high for eight hours.
05/06/2011
This was not practiced and alot of work!
09/04/2007
Gustatory modality just lkie my Favorite resturants version !!!! wonderful on a cold night.
09/28/2010
Amazing 5 commencement recipe BUT please note that I made a few changes of my own. Get-go I used 2-1/2 lbs of beef stew cubed meat instead of the beef shank. I added ane/4 tsp garlic powder to the meat equally information technology browned in addition to salt and pepper and I used ane tbsp onion pulverization since my married man doesn't similar onions. I also used 3 cans of beefiness goop and a bit of water to cover the meat and 1/8 tap cumin. four cups water, added 2 extra potatoes, 2 zucchini instead of chayotes and 1 extra carrot. Oh and added 1/4 tap garlic common salt for taste preference. I didn't make whatever of the toppings because we just ate it with some castilian rice and a flake of Louisiana. All in all took well-nigh three hours and Amazing! This was SO adept it exceeded my expectations. Corking hearty soup. I made this on a cold, rainy Sunday at virtually three and nosotros ate ate information technology for the rest of the day! It was that good. Cheers for sharing!
03/11/2010
This was delicious! I live in a border town and get to eat authentic mexican food and this recipe is as good equally I take had. I didn't have chayotes and Cumin is a must in mexican dishes, and so I added two tsp. when I added the onion. If you lot have spanish rice on hand, add it to your basin when serving. I'm and then glad to have a Caldo recipe! It'due south a keeper. Thank you!!
08/eighteen/2010
this recipe was then awesome, i just added more water/broth, alot more than potatos and threw in some chopped celery and well-nigh a tbsp of cummin. IT WAS Delicious!
05/12/2011
All I can say is ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE!!! This was not simply the most cute soup I've e'er made, merely by far the almost tasty! The lime and cilantro really make this soup, otherwise it but tastes similar vegetable beefiness soup. Cumin besides is a necessity. Makes a lot, only so good. Looking forward to leftovers, equally I'm sure when the flavors sit down overnight, will be even more than succulent!
02/05/2011
This was but like mom used to make! I added a can of tomatoe sauce, and zuccini squash instead of the chayote.
08/09/2008
"Weston Price way:" utilise beef bone broth made separately; use tallow for frying onions; add together upward to four chopped roasted (and peeled) poblano peppers at the very end; garnish well with lime juice at the end. If you strip half the corn kernels from cobs and cut the remainder of the cobs into 1" wide wheels, the soup thickens up every bit information technology cools and is easier top swallow for potluckers. Also, try using fresh tomatoes non canned. Splendid!
01/24/2011
Wonderful on a cold winters dark! I did as suggested and cooked the meat for 2-3 hours. Meat cruel off bones! I like it a little spicier so I used a can of Rotel instead of patently tomatoes. Worked wonderful. Had leftovers for almost a week! Will def make again...probably next weekend! :>)
02/02/2010
I wish I could back up the other reviews, but this came out completely bland. I used no water and all beef goop, merely after calculation burgoo cubes, table salt, cayenne, garlic, cumin, etc., nothing could brand this a yummy soup. I did cook this in a crockpot, only I all the same browned the meat and onions first, which should have helped heave the taste. Afterward two days of sitting (that usually increases season) it was withal bland. If you similar strong flavors, this may non exist for you lot. Thanks anyway.
12/29/2011
This was wonderful! My Hispanic friend made this for me before but I didn't get the recipe. This was very shut, though I don't retrieve she uses tomatoes. I couldn't find beef shank and then I used about a lb of beefiness marrow soup bones and then another pound or and then of beefiness stew meat. I as well added jalapeno when I put in the corn and potatoes to requite it a little kick and a fleck of cumin as the other reviewers suggested. The flavour was superb, the broth to die for. The Then raved about it though he didn't "go" the corn cob in in that location. "What'southward that for? Information technology'due south like soup but with a large clamper of corn in in that location." I disagree and love the idea that while eating and slurping such deliciousness one can take a break and eat i of my all time favorite things: corn on the cob! Fantastic, v stars all the manner.
07/11/2010
I seasoned a little more to sense of taste but this is a groovy base of operations recipe!
03/02/2011
Only similar my grandma used to make! It does taste better and better every day, and saving the corn on the cob for the last is the best office ! Nosotros never put potato in ours, used squash instead. I did add ii tsp cumin, and used Rotel tomatoes. Hadn't had chayotes in years, they requite just a slight fleck of sugariness. Serviced with fresh cilantro, lime and fresh jalapenos if you like some spice. Give thanks y'all for this recipe, oasis't had good caldo in many years and can't wait to make information technology once again !
11/16/2010
This was good, simply a bit bland earlier calculation in salt, cumin and a few other spices. The meat turned out super tender and tasty, but the broth was really disappointing. I used frozen cut corn on the cobbs and didn't like that either. Too messy. Maybe next time I'll use simply regular kernals instead.
xi/05/2006
I made this recipe exactly like information technology says and it was Bang-up! The only affair that I would change is add together a footling bit more meat and slice the cabbage up in smaller pieces. Definately a keeper, I volition make it again real soon.
01/13/2011
I really similar this soup - it is easy, I really didn't modify anything except add some cumin, and I pulled the fat off the bones before I cooked them. What makes information technology good is the fresh ingredients added at the concluding. I left the corn on the cob and cutting information technology into thirds like it said, information technology'due south similar a little extra treat when you lot're through eating the soup. It is balmy flavored - not spicy. The merely thing I didn't add was the radishes, but because I forgot to buy them.
05/18/2011
like, oh wow
03/30/2007
This soup was AMAZING! My boyfriend rated it equally "all-time ever," and that says a lot because we brand a lot of soup in our household. The but thing I changed was adding some extra goop because I like brothier soups. This is 1 I'll make again and once again!!
09/28/2008
I make this in the crockpot and add 3-4 tbsp of butter to the pot. I serve it with fresh-squeezed lime and lemon. Information technology is just like my favorites "mom-due north-pop" Mexican eating place hither in Texas. Nosotros dear it!
02/01/2012
This is a comforting, down abode beef stew. There's no spice or seasoning other than the beefiness and vegetable flavor. Some would phone call information technology bland, but I call it comforting. Non all Mexican dishes are loaded with spice.
02/18/2011
Yummy!
03/20/2009
This is better than what I get at the restaurant. Only thing I did different was I added ii tsp of cumin.
02/25/2009
I dearest this soup ! Information technology tastes similar the 'Cadillo soup' from my favorite Tex Mex restaurant. And then flavorful and succulent ! I topped the soup with crumbled tortilla chips, and my boys loved it ! I didn't use Chayote. Instead I substituted with zucchinis.
11/01/2010
SO Expert. It is a must to use cumin, but but 1/4 of a teaspoon
01/03/2010
This recipe is admittedly succulent! Information technology was and then easy and came out merely like my grandma used to brand in El Paso. I honey it with a side of mexican rice, corn tortillas and lots of lime. Honey it!
12/04/2010
This recipe is very much similar what I grew up -- really yummy with one necessary change: to HAVE really tender meat (edible, actually) y'all have to let the meat simmer for three - four hours. If you fabricated this soup and enjoyed information technology when barely cooked meat, then y'all'll love information technology them its falling off the os!
12/16/2011
worth 10 stars better than most restraurants as written. I added two crushed garlic cloves because I similar garlic. Excellent gustation like shooting fish in a barrel to make Very easy to eat as a master entree or soup earlier dinner I Love this soup
04/12/2011
This was sort of a "potpourri" soup. Some of this and some of that. Loved all the veggies. I cut the recipe in half and it nonetheless made enough for viii and then I'chiliad putting some in freezer for later.
06/28/2008
Make sure the potatoes are cut in small pieces then they tin cook improve, and adjacent time i would put them a picayune earlier. I as well added the knorr suiza seasoning and some cumin. This is a neat recipe!
07/27/2009
My family and I absolutely loved this dish! we only used kernel corn to brand it easier to eat while hot. nosotros also used a couple more chayotes crusade we love squash. as is said in hawaii 'broke da mouth'
06/05/2011
I loved this recipe. Reminds me of the soup my mom used to make all the time. Caldo de Res is actually from all over Latin America not only Mexico :)
eleven/05/2010
I accept been making caldo since I tin remember, but never like this.... the beef broth adds an excellent flavor to it.... I changed it a little I used beef chuck boneless and a pocketbook of frozen corn I followed the rest of the recipe it is soo good my family loves mexican food and this was a true hit.
02/14/2009
I've fabricated clado earlier and always so bland only i tried it this was and wow was great thanks my family loved information technology;-)
02/01/2009
This is a neat recipe because you don't need to change much. I used ane lb of beefiness shanks (on the os) and 1 lb of lean stew meat. Since I used a pressure level cooker, I adjusted the recipe to 4 cups of beef broth. Basically, I followed other pressure cooker stew recipes past dredging the meat in seasoned blossom, then browning in batches. Next, I sauted the onions and garlic. Afterward the onions were browned, I added the diced tomatoes and beef goop. Cooked it for 15 minutes afterwards it pressured, then added the veggies and cooked for another 10 minutes. It was thicker than most people may like it, and then a few cups of water could accept been added every bit well. I personally like thicker soups, so loved the flavour.
01/04/2011
easy to make and delish!
10/24/2010
I made this as written and it was delicious. In the future, because I will make this again, I will employ a bag of frozen corn instead of on the cob. I will use 1/2 the cabbage and cutting information technology and the zucchini into smaller pieces. I volition double the cilantro added to the soup, add additional stew meat, and two packets sazon. Wow, I know it seems like I am irresolute alot but really these changes volition not alter the flvor of this delicious soup. It will make information technology less messy to consume and my son likes extra meat. Thank y'all for sharing a great soup.
01/26/2010
This was not bad!! I added cumin, as another reviewer suggested, likewise every bit a couple cloves of garlic, minced. YUM!!!!
01/04/2009
I made this terminal dark and my family unit loved it. Excellent recipe. Probably the best soup I've ever made. I didn't use the beefiness os, I used boneless flanken rib meat and cutting it into 1/2 inch strips and information technology came out wonderfully.
06/24/2008
This turned out actually good. My mother-in-police was upset when she found out I was making caldo de res from a recipe, but when she tasted it she was perfectly happy!
03/09/2009
This is a wonderful recipe. I didn`t add together tomatoes altogether with meat, but later (~30 min. after meat simmering). I didn`t find chayotes, so omitted them. Very good soup, will brand over again.
01/x/2011
I used two packets of sazon and chicken instead of beef. I also just used a ane/four head of cabbage and frozen corn instead of corn on the cob. It was delicious, just it does make a lot! I had leftovers after serving to six people
12/01/2006
great recipe! Information technology was a big striking. I will definitely make this one over again.
05/31/2009
Information technology is best to have a soup base for this soup, as it gives the soup more flavor. Please notation, Caldo de Res Really translates to "beef soup." This soup is a staple through All of latin america.
01/09/2011
Added: Lime Corn Tortilla Chips and Hot sause to give information technology a petty kicking. It was delicious. Made enough to take to lunch for the week.
12/20/2007
Awesome!!! Added some ground comino and garlic powder and left out the jalapenos.
01/31/2011
Succulent! I apply beef chuck cut into big chunks. I also make my own salsa to spoon into the soup. Serve with hot flour tortillas. Tastes meliorate the next day.
07/thirty/2008
Absolutely wonderful, we loved information technology. It was very flavorful and healthy. I did use zucchini in place of the chayotes and used frozen corn instead of corn on the cob. I am sure it would be great either way. Groovy recipe thanks!
12/31/2008
My wife is from El salvador and 2 years ago her aunt made this soup, then about 6 months afterwards I decided I was going to make this soup for the entire family. This recipe is at present a staple in our domicile and I get in on a regular footing. This truly is a very user friendly recipe and delivers a wonderful soup that is even better the next twenty-four hours! Cheers, John
02/27/2012
This is a bully recipe! My husband loves this and eats it with a petty lime squeezed on top. I followed it to a "t". But amazing!!
xi/07/2011
this soup was delicious, the whole family had seconds on a common cold rainy day.inverse a couple things, used big beef short ribs and zuchini instead of chayote.dandy stuff, relish
01/05/2009
My hubby is from Mexico and he said this is exactly like the food he ate when growing up. I'chiliad from the US and this soup is freak'n good!
01/xxx/2012
This soup is fantastic equally is and is well-deserved of five stars. I kicked it up a notch by adding half a teaspoon each of chipotle powder and cumin. I had also made a roast the solar day earlier which I diced and used as the meat. This volition likely go a staple soup. Thanks!
02/22/2010
This is sooooooo good! The recipe says to serve the bones in your bowl only I pulled those out and the round fatty and gristle that were attached to the os. They just were non look appetizing and I was already throwing a new dish to my family unit. I cooked pretty much as the recipes said with only the addition of some cumin (every bit other reviewers suggested) and a can of the HOT rotel. That one can gave the whole soup a nice kick. Plus, I probably added to the cooking time quit a bit just making sure my meat and and so the veggies were tender. I used all the toppings suggested, I didn't need the jalepeno though because of the rotel. Was really surprised at how good the squeeze of lime complimented the dish. This is an fantabulous dish, not typical, very surprising wonderful flavors.
x/24/2010
Excellent recipe, but next fourth dimension I recollect I would add a trivial more than meat.
07/04/2009
This has get our family unit's favorite during the cold months. Thanks for sharing this recipe.
12/17/2008
Mom fabricated this for u.s. growing up. I've revised using short ribs and any cut of roast on sale. Just enquire the butcher to cut into stew meat. I also add celery stalks and bay leaf. Cumin is also necessary. I used wedges of cabbage at the end and zucchini squash and it turns into a robust vegetable beefiness soup. Don't forget the corn on the cob, I keep some in the freezer. One more tip, we sometimes serve on top of a scoop of white rice if we don't have plenty soup. Deelicious
x/01/2009
Fantabulous
10/01/2010
Existent comfort nutrient & the recipe fabricated PLENTY - enough to share with a couple of friends and neighbors who all loved information technology.
12/01/2008
This was i of my favorite soups growing up. For beefiness, I employ beef curt ribs and simply apply shanks if the short ribs don't accept enough meat on them. It gives information technology a better flavor, but you exercise need to skim the fatty off the soup after information technology cooks(it's also easily removed afterwards the soup has been placed in the fridge). You demand to brown the meat well for flavour before adding any liquid. This is a skillful Caldo de Res recipe and anybody who loves beef soup should attempt this at least once.
ten/18/2009
WOW! Great soup. I made a double batch for our Cooking social club dinner. It was a Mexican theme dinner and had way over 50 people show up. I stayed every bit shut as possible to the recipe merely had to make a few changes. I used 20oz of frozen corn instead of cobs. I thought with the pocket-sized sample bowls the corn on the cob would have been a piffling unmanageable and used zucchini instead of the chayotes. getting hungry over again writing this! I then added about 6 stocks of celery, three very large Russet potatoes, half a dozen medium carrots and then added the cabbage. SPICES..... I didn't get too carried away but when I tasted the soup towards the cease I felt it simply needed something more than. I went lite on the salt from the beginning but so I could sneak up on information technology rather than finding out it was as well salty. I added almost 5 beef bullion cubes (I already had half dozen cups of beef broth in the pot) nearly 2tsps. Chile powder, maybe 1tsps, of cayenne pepper, and about ii Tbsp. black pepper. Information technology STILL demand something. I ended upwards putting in a tsp of paprika and THAT did it! I should have listened to the 1 reviewer that said this recipe would make full 8 Aztec warriors. My "doubled" recipe well-nigh filled upward my 16qt soup pot!! With over 25 dishes and pupus (Hawaiian for appetizers) there was just too much food! So I concluded up bringing almost ii gallons of soup! Expert affair the soup was proficient and I really dear leftovers. I'm certain it will freeze well. I paired this up with some wonderful honey cornbread from this site and got a fifty
x/ten/2011
I was craving this soup, that my grandma used to make when I was a child. Overall, made for an Amazing meal that reminded me of cold lord's day afternoons spent watching Sabado Gigante with my abuelita. I didn't give it five starts because I thought it was a bit bland when I followed the directions equally is. Showtime off, I couldn't detect beef shank at my local big box grocery store, so I went with a minor chuck roast augmented with cut beef ribs. Instead of plainly diced tomatoes, I used Del Monte diced tomatoes with green chiles. I also added half a tin can of love apple sauce when I added the vegetables to give it more color and flavor. Also, the chayote was too expensive for my taste, so I went with zucchini squash instead.
06/fifteen/2009
I agree with the other reviewers who said the recipe needs garlic and cumin. It is simply a basic vegetable soup without those season notes. We also added oregano to give the soup more of a Mexican season. It is a delicious soup but gets four stars becase it lacks "Mexican" seasonings.
02/06/2009
This was wonderful, only I did substitute a few things since I didn't have evrything on hand. I know I chopped my veggies into smaller pieces than the recipe called for. I used leftover roast that I had in the fridge and I used all beef broth instead of water. I actually think what makes this outstanding is the fresh lime juice, cilantro and jalapeno peppers which I stirred in just b4 serving. Without these ingredients, it wouldn't exist worth making. I will make this again.
01/24/2008
This is an awesome recipe!!!
04/30/2012
i cannot stress enough how amazing this was! i made as follows, but used about 75% vegetable goop, and 25% water. i couldn't detect chayotes, so subbed zucchini as recommended. i will definitely make again... in one case i go through all these leftovers :)
07/21/2009
Very good. Didn't change a affair.
xi/01/2009
So amazingly delicious ! Used cherry tomatoes in place of the canned tomatoes because I had them on hand.
09/04/2008
great
09/13/2011
Delicious... I just had chicken goop but added some beef flavoring in with the meats and it tasted just fine. Also added a fresh jalapeno and pocket-size chile when I put in the cabbage. The advice many people gave to add 1/4 t cumin was spot-on as well.
02/09/2010
Excellent! We all loved it, great soup!
01/23/2009
This was splendid and was well worth the three or and then hours information technology took to brand.
02/02/2009
I dearest this soup, my mom has been making it for years and looking at the ingredients in this recipe, it's very like. Cheers for sharing!
03/14/2009
This was my first try at Caldo de Res... I was nervous making it. Hoping it would taste as traditional as my friends family make it. information technology was perfect! i did a niggling tweaking to suit my family's sense of taste and it was awesome! thanks so much for this!!! now i don't have to wait until a friend brings information technology along or buy it at the local Mexican Marketplace! thanks a bunch
03/fifteen/2009
This was more flavorful than I expected. We used stew meat (nosotros are lazy cooks), and it worked well.
08/12/2007
This recipe is very delicious and accurate. Love it!!
01/23/2009
Besides good for words!! Use a small caput of cabbage tho. Otherwise, make exactly as is. Delicioso!!
11/eleven/2011
Best flavor soup I've had in a long fourth dimension!!
06/23/2008
This is just like my mother-in-law used to make.
01/06/2013
This was out of this globe! I substitited zucchini for the chayotes, and added a few seasonings (garlic, cumin, and Goya adobe seasoning). I also added a couple of squirts of lime juice from concentrate to the entire pot. Otherwise, followed to the letter of the alphabet, and it was to dice for! I idea my picky eater would turn his olfactory organ upwards considering of all the veggies, but he ate two bowls, which is saying a lot for him. Will definitely make over again! Thank you!
08/ten/2008
This was a Bully SOUP!!! My husband likes it to.
x/05/2009
This was a greatttt recipe!! Information technology is perfect just the way it is. I did add two cloves of garlic to the pot and some cumin but that is the merely thing I did different. I made castilian rice and warmed upwardly some tortillas on the burner and my family unit ate this soup upward!
01/fourteen/2010
I loved this! I made it for my roommates and it filled them up (which is rare)! Its very hearty!!! Too for yous non-cabbage lovers out there we skipped that part and substituted an extra potato with an extra cup of broth. Also Monterrey Jack is a great topper!!!
08/eighteen/2009
Very, very athentic, simply I agree, y'all must add cumin and a little garlic!!! Our family loved it!
12/05/2011
THE Best Cocido recipe out there ! I just enhanced information technology past adding 1 Tablespoon of cumin. Just marvelous!
